Glasgow Style Appropriation Poster

This was a school project where we had to take an existing graphic design from history and mimic the style with a modern context. I decided to redesign the poster for the Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, designed by J. Herbert McNair, Frances Macdonald, and Margaret Macdonald (1895). I was inspired by the strange hair loops that the elongated figures of the original poster had, which reminded me of the hairstyle of the character Sailor Moon from the popular anime. I changed the decorative elements in the design to hearts and crescent moons, which are popular visual motifs from the show.
